This forum is the one with the most activity. It is used every day by our members to post selections in our monthly nap competition. Everyone is welcome to submit a nap each day; irrespective of when you join as a member (membership is free).
Rules: you have a virtual £10 each day to place on one selection - win or each way. The winner is the one with the highest return at the end of each month. That return includes the stake. There is no prize other than the kudos attached to seeing the monthly Talkinghorses banner carrying your forum name.
You must make an initial post each day nominating your nap (the post can contain other comments, but preferably your nap should be on the first line of your post). If you have a return due on your nap, you must then make a 'results post' e.g., "Red Rum won at 9/4" If your selection was each way, you must also stipulate that in your results post.
Rules: EW bets are settled under Tattersall Rules, as follows:
Fewer than 5 runners – all to win
5-7 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2
8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3
Handicaps with 12-15 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3
Handicaps with 16 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4
The 1/4 odds a place rules will be applied only if you make clear in your results post that your selection qualifies for the 1/4 odds term; if you do not mention 1/4 odds in your results post, admins will settle the bet at 1/5th the odds. Example: "My EW selection Kingzog was placed at 10/1 at 1/4 odds"
Non Runners
If your horses is a non runner, you can change your selection. If you don't change your selection and you want your £10 virtual stake credited for that day, you must make a results post stating that your selection was a non runner. You have 24 hours to make this post, otherwise your NR is counted a loser.
If you make your results post and admin fails to note it on the updated spreadsheet, which is published daily, you should post again in the current day's forum saying that your post was missed. You can post this at any time. There is no 24 hour limit as the fault was ours in missing your results post.
There are other forums too here; click on the Daily Naps Thread and scroll down to see them.
Good luck
