Now that I've got my weekly wrong date day out of my system I am raring to go for the weekend. Well done Leo and Pebbles yesterday. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.

Have been trying to perm any 10 from 11 in the Tote Ten To Follow competition and am baffled. Will call them this morning unless any of you can steer me right?

@playlord If anyone thought the Paddy Power Gold Cup wasn't a wide open race they need to read your Big Race Analysis, Joe. Small bets only for me, just to feel part of it. I can say though that I have friends in Wensleydale and they are all really excited about the locally trained The Real Whacker. He's building up quite a fan base now after last season's fencing exploits. I hear Patrick Neville would have liked a quieter pipe opener than this - a mooted outing at Carlisle two weekends ago was sidestepped - and from that I assume the King George at Kempton - given some cut in the ground - will be where the horse is expected to go close. The Brown Advisory form has really stacked up and the fact that Gerri Colombe (beaten a short head that day) has come out and won off the same rating that Whacker carries tomorrow means that Neville's pride and joy has a live Gold Cup chance (and I mean the real Gold Cup). Not a lot of juice in that 7/1 tomorrow but as a strong galloper and a great jumper it's hard to see him out of the first three.

@harrytheactor

Bronn did little for the RSA form today. I'm not convinced about the strength of that race. Significant  ( maybe ) to me, is the market move for Venitias horse ( 20s ) earlier in the week.

Its wide open alright.

While he has not exactly been knocked over, Belgoprince is now 7/1 third favourite in the 4.05 Cheltenham, having opened at 14/1. Impossible to know how good the fav Impose Toi is, but I wonder if he'll find this a little sharp - it's bound to be run at a strong pace.

Belgoprince was running into a place until he dived at the last and came almost to a standstill. He looked ring rusty for the first half of the race when the jockey gave him no daylight, then he was just improving when he was clattered into by Mr Mackay. I'm telling myself that losses are only lent . . .

I really enjoy the X country and have backed Back on the Lash previously and am wondering how cheap I am to desert him. Despite 2 Gold Cup standard horses heading the weights

Nap Chelts 1455 Late Night Pass

gets plenty of weight and I'm hoping the Skelton's ability to get a horse jumping shines through.

It amazes me that home-based trainers can only scrape together four horses to take on the Irish in the Grade 2 novices hurdle (3.30). There are precious few chances before the festival to give your better novices course experience. Are they already waving the white flag in the face of the Irish invasion?

Somehow I have 4 trackers running in the 15:53 at Doncaster, none of whom are in the first 2 in the betting odds.

After putting out 4 bowls of cat food with the name of each horse under each bowl and seeing which horse is their selection, Nickelforce is the nap.

@baciodilupo they're both on a diet of dry food for the next week. The other trackers came 1st, 2nd and 7th. Of course I didn't do the exacta box which at least would have made the race profitable.

Don't take it out on the cats… a bad workman blames his cats.

Next time, ask them to point out the NAP, works every time with my two….
