Well done to Jake and to Gaz on yesterday's winners. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Many thanks for the kind comments on the Badger Beer piece, and to Tom for highlighting here where it could be read - am always reluctant to push things in people's faces. Anyway, it's been a good start to the season for close analysis of these big Saturday chases. Things will turn, as they always do, but I hope to carry this on throughout the season on Saturdays and big race days. Just getting myself used to Raceform Interactive (it's still set in the '60s, I think!), which will be a help in cutting the time put in.
I also set that Race Analysis page up in the hope some of you would like to send me something on a particular race you are keen on. It needn't be long; a paragraph or two highlighting your fancy will be fine. Give me a shout here or by mail joe@talkinghorses.pro
Here's the latest scoresheet, and the cash totals at this stage.
I know a lot of Scots want independence (and I don't blame them), but unilaterally moving the date forward 1 day seems a particularly bold move.
Elegant Escape 3.25 Sandown is todays nap, well done yesterday Gaz.
The Imposter 2.25FL.
Cyclop 3.25 Sandown.
Appreciate the big race analysis Joe. May you continue to reap the rewards !
Totterdown 14:50 Sand EW Nap.
Captain Claude - 15.35 Ffon Las
Mumbles - 15.35 Ffos Las
Sandown 2.15 - In The Air
I'll go for Cyclop today in the Sandown 3.20. Sure to be a good race. .
Well done yesterday Joe. I read your piece and still gave frodon another chance. Owes no-one anything and won't judge this final season on one race PN interview before race seemed to indicate he's running him while he's still enjoying his races but maybe not expecting wins. But as he said, he thought that last year. Anyway long as he stays safe.
Harry is obviously another for great race analysis. Always great to read these pieces but they just highlight to me how little I know!!!
Gaz has already gone for one of last season's cash machines, The Imposter. He's 4lb worse off with Ballydisco from their dead heat and that race showed he has such a huge heart after fighting back when passed. For sure I'll have a few quid on. He was so consistent he was also a good yardstick as he gave us Barrier Peaks and Lone Star. He's missed a couple of entries with the weather so should be up for today.
My tracker says that
Nap Sand 1450 Iliko D'olivate
needed to strengthen up. His 2 poor shows were over half a mile further. On the flat ratings into hurdles the front 2 are about a stone well in but if he is stronger he may be able to make up for that over a shorter trip.
Drop The Anchor EW in the 14:00 at Naas.
NAP Heart Wood 3.10 Naas.
I did fancy The Good Doctor’s Mr. Muldoon in the 2.25 but (God knows why)…..
Nap: Cyclop, 15:25 San
Well done to yesterday's winners.
The imposter won 11/2.
