I had to do a triple check on the name when I saw that 7/4 winner down to Jake. 7/1 is short for Jake! Anyone, well done as the sole winning Napster I can see for Saturday. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
I managed to scrape a small profit from my host of EW bets on the Mackeson. My biggest bet by some way was on The Real Whacker and consternation is much too weak a word when I saw him drop away so tamely. Turns out he was struck into on his near fore; also lame on the same leg, so maybe the dreams of those connections are not yet done with. Let's hope there are no long term ill-effects. Harry's tip helped the coffers too, getting 8th when looking set for 18th turning in. A good mare, but it just shows what these non rock star yards are up against in the sport.
I've spent a while looking at the Jewson, 2.20, and ended up with a shortlist of:
Dom Of Mary
Rose of Arcadia
Captain Cattistock
Malina Girl
Dom Of Mary sticks out as particularly good value and I've backed him at 20s with Paddy Power to 3 places, at 16 with Hills to 4, and at SP with Skybet to 5. Hasn't had much racing and looks something of a D Bridgewater project. David got him after he won his point over 2m3f and he was kept at that trip until March this year.
They've been gradually stepping him up and he ran his best rating when winning almost 2 weeks ago on his seasonal debut over an extended 3m1f at Plumpton, the longest trip he's faced. I assume from this entry they think there is more to come, though this will be a proper test tomorrow, probably on dead ground.
Still, he has Caoilin Quinn claiming 5 giving him 9.13 - a very handy weight for this slog, and I think he's a good bet, certainly to 5 places. The others on my shortlist are longer too than I would have them, but Dom Of Mary easily gets my vote.
Good luck
Joe
Cheltenham 2.20: Wayfinder at 14/1 is interesting. There's a fair pull in the weights with Guetapan Collonges and the jockey booking catches the eye - Sean Bowen is too much in demand to ride for Rebecca Curtis often these days. But the Bowens are just down the road from her yard, so the Pembrokeshire Mafia must be brewing something! The Curtis yard has been having a torrid time of it for the past year or more, though they enjoyed a welcome winner in late October. Wayfinder has the reputation for needing it bottomless, but he's nothing like as ground dependent as his stablemate Pats Fancy. He is no speed merchant either and will relish every yard of this trip. He had a sound seasonal debut here at the last meeting, running third behind the improving Whacker Clan, and has gone up only a pound for that - he is hovering now just above his last winning mark.
I also rate Malina Girl as a solid e.w. bet at 10/1 for the in-form Gavin Cromwell.
Ginny's Destiny 1.45 Cheltenham is the nap. Wishing Six a good first public experience over hurdles in the race of the day at Fontwell.
Nap: Nemean Lion, 15:30 Chelts
.,;.,:..,,: in the 15.30 at Cheltenham is today’s selection. (That’s Punctuation btw)😁
Luccia - 15.30 Cheltenham
Nemean lion Cheltenham 15.30. Always interested in Kerry Lee entries
Sixfiveseven 14:43 Font Nap.
2.20 city chief.
What to make of Gordon Elliott having 33 runners at Navan today, including 15 of the 21 due to line up in the Troytown Chase? I’m sure there are all sorts of reasons, different owners, local trainer etc., but for contrast there are 39 runners across all the races this afternoon at Fontwell. The machine rolls on….
Hollow Games. Navan 2.30.
I've got 8 in the Greatwood, which is bollocks. The last race was good for me yesterday as I'd a small bet on the winner and took 29s to 7P on Harry's as 8P had shortened to 22s. Joe is, I think talking bet landed as it finished 6th.
Nap Chelts 1600 Doyen Star
maybe I should stop listening to trainers as Dan said he thought this had a good chance and 10s is a reasonable price
Good luck to the lads on Six's UK debut.
Guetapan Collonges in the 14:20 at Cheltenham.
P.S. I still can only login on my dog and bone.
Captain Claude 3.29C.
NAP Railway Hurricane 1.45 Chelt’nam.
Napped the wrong Cromwell horse yesterday…. Hope I’m right today…he’s always dangerous at Cheltenham…
