I have covid. Be careful not to touch the screen.

Well done to Gaz, Jake, Baciodilupo, and John987, harvesting those nice-priced winners yesterday. After a quiet autumn Jake is polishing that winner picking pen. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.

I saw Robicheaux napped Rickety Gate yesterday and watched the race. Thought he'd benefit from a fence.

Edit

Ade sent me the attached pic of Northern Symphonie, who looks in superb shape. I remarked on this to Ade and he puts it all down to you syndicate members who have given him the time he needs. It looks very well worth it. It'll be great to see her next week.

@playlord

Keep safe.

At the end of yesterday's Forum, Quai found frustration with the Guardian Moderators on a gardening topic.

Leaving aside you can post anything you like on the cookery section.

In all the years on Talking Horses I have only seen a single warranted straight red.

BarneyRubblesBubbles accused a Jockey whose name you will not be able to identify as a "Cheat" during a ride for D.SImcock.

I knew that post had to come down.

Otherwise it has just been Handbags at Dawn on that Forum yet matches had to be stopped because of insufficient players on the pitch due to RCs..

The first posters always got a RC as a warning on TH and maybe have arrived home from a night our a little worse for wear and haven't fully gathered their thoughts.

But those standards should apply to those who have  come home early to post homicidal threats in the cookery section because the right amount of Tabasco Sauce wasn't recommended.

My nap today is Ronald Pump. e.w 13.40 at Clonmel. Sponsored by Clonmel Oil Service Station where I have indeed pumped some oil in to my car.

@elgransenor The moderation is often bizarre - that's if you get past the pre-moderation checks that often appear. You cant comment on many issues unless your opinion matches the BTL groupthink.

@david Noticed that quite a few articles in the Guard, where one would be interested to to read the thoughts of others are never open for comments..Moderators opting for an easy life.

This is a test post as I've now added a couple of paid plugins to ease the uploading of pictures and to allow embedding of videos that appear on other sites - YouTube for example, but it will also work with Vimeo and many more. You can attach multiple images.

Clicking on My Media, or Attach Files (below) will allow the pictures upload. For embedding video, just copy the URL or click the share button on YouTube and then 'copy link', then just paste it into your post.

If anyone needs a brief visual guide on how to embed, let me know.

Best wishes Joe. I’m typing this with gloves on, just in case.

Mumbo Jumbo (ew) - 13.15 Newbury. Was also a track on an excellent album by Squeeze called East Side Story. Those were the days.

Get well soon Joe. Jake back in form - I'm glad I won last month when he was off his game a bit!   As some will know - he has his own room in the winners Villa these days. I've not went in yet, might have a look today, but its such a labyrinth here it may be hard to find again.

Today i'll go for Hititi EW in the Newbury 14.25.

Ran okay but 4th after looking like doing better about 3 furlongs out - bookie paid 4 places so that's fine but no use for the competition! Horse will go on tracker for next run though.

I always thought that Sergeant Wilson (N 12.05) was a curious purchase by Messieurs Munir et Souede. Do you think Dad's Army plays well in France?

@harrytheactor John le Mesurier as a name has a touch of French though my research tells me the family was from Guernsey. My brain tells me the family will likely date back to the Plantagenet era when we ruled a lot of what is now called France and which we should have reclaimed in the Brexit negotiations.

@gforce Maybe you saw Henry V on telly the other night. Hiddleston made a reasonable fist of the victor of Agincourt though god knows he's no Olivier.

The TV channel Dave has animated several "lost" Dads Army shows from the 60s with the aid of some original audio and additional voice work from talented impressionists. i haven't seen one yet - they only showed first one Monday but the trailer they've been running made them look fun. Worth a watch i'm sure - i didnt think the fairly recent recast Dads army episodes worked but cartoon versions of the cast should be fine

@david Yeah - I watched one the other night - it was very good. I think they basically re-recorded them all for radio shortly after broadcast. Radio 4 Extra have played old episodes of 'Steptoe' and 'Whatever happened to the likely lads' from the same source.

@savoieblue The radio versions are quite good and the audience sounds as if they enjoyed themselves. You can picture the cast because their performances are so imprinted on your memory. The one who struggles to come across for me is Captain Mainwaring. You really need to see him as well as hear him to grasp the true genius of Arthur Lowe.

Was tempted to nap Emma Hamilton out of Mount Nelson running at Ludlow, but landed on the previous race (13:25) with Tightenourbelts

Watching Willmount winning there, I'm just a bit sorry for Neil Mulholland. I know he thought last year that this was the best prospect he'd had in the yard for a good while, yet he was taken away from him and sent to Nicky Henderson (who has not had a horse for the owner before). Training is a rough old game sometimes.

There could be an owner/trainer/jockey double in the 1.50 with the odds-on Break My Soul. It looks like Ollie Harris is sending his expensive Irish PTP purchases (a new departure for him) to Seven Barrows and keeping his ex-French scruffs with Gary Moore.
